The primary aim of the Jade 101 Sustainable Home was to design and construct a highly water and energy efficient and sustainable home while maintaining affordability. The judges were impressed by the native, water-wise garden
supplied by a greywater, reticulated sub-surface system, and bathrooms being located such that hot water travels a minimum distance and cold water wastage is reduced.
